Which European lanuage is better for enhancing career options in Finance (M&A/PE/equity research)?

Even in the UK, Chinese would be a great asset. China has a quickly expanding private equity industry, along with India of course, and UK firms will be looking for persons fluent in both English and Chinese. But if you’re set on a European language, I agree speaking German would be helpful, Germany has a strong financial sector. Otherwise French would be good too.
I have heard good things about the Rosetta Stone language software, but how fast you learn a language depends on the person. If you have already learned another language you are probably going to learn this one more easily.
