Not late on bills, 685 credit score, equity in my home, was approved then declined by Lenders?

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Need Help! I applied for an Equity loan, had score 685 and equity. Made payments way before due date not past due date. I drive for a living…me and fiance were splitting up and needed this loan BAD to pay off my truck. The note was 6.00 a month, house 5.00 electric 5.00 and so on. I was told I had been approved and qualified for. When the Lenders (credit card co.) found out I want to pay off truck to get the title they declined me.

Tell me if I’m wrong? That would’ve put 5.00 back in my pocket each month to pay bills. If you got hurt and can’t work you can catch up on credit cards but NOT YOUR TRUCK. They will come GET IT!!! Then YOU LOOSE EVERTHING! Open your eyes everyone! Watched what’s going on and NOT CSI. Don’t be led to the PASTURES!!!

We want to refinance our mortgage, but we need to use a ’stated income’ Are they even available anymore?

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

We refinanced, with cash out, about 9 months ago. We qualified through our Stated Income. We paid off all of our credit cards and outstanding bills and tax issues. The rate is adjustable and very high. Our plan is to stay in this home for approximately 7 more years.

The payment is manageable, and we pay extra toward the principal each month, but we want to refinance and lock in for 30 years at a better rate.

We have well over 50% equity, and will maintain that equity if we refinance.

Problem is, we will only qualify with our ’stated income’. Is a ’stated income’ loan a thing of the past?

Is a home equity loan an ideal way to pay off credit card debt?

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Ok, this is unconventional – My mom is disabled. Her home was affected by Katrina. Her home is finally fixed. However, during the past two years, she’s accrued close to 0,000 in credit card bills to pay off some of the repairs since a lot the funds from the insurance and the government were not enough. Additionally, since she is disabled and receives little from the government, she has been unable to pay enough or on time. Her interest has gone up to 25-30% on 4 cards. I have good credit. I own a condo. I want to at least help her by getting a home equity loan (basically a second mortgage) even though I want to get a loan in a couple of years to buy a house. She’s considered bankruptcy with Chapter 13 in order to not jeopardize her home, which she paid off with some of the funds received from Katrina. It seems she has no way out; and I hate to be in this situation from my own financial balance. What can be done? She needs serious help; and I don’t want to jeopardize my credit.
