I know whether this is the right place to ask or not? Anyways.
Suppose I own mining and exploration licence close to China, somewhere in Asia.
The hydration, infrastructure is poor and no JORC study has done yet. But the deposit is a good one.
Whatever the conditions are what does it take to raise money for a mining project? What are the necessary steps?
Thank you!

Thursday, February 4th, 2010Buy Now – Sell Later Which to Mortgage?
Friday, December 18th, 2009I want to sell my current home & purchase a condo. I am a retired senior with a fully paid-up home. The condo is in construction to be finished in a couple of months.
If I list my current home, it may not sell in time to simply pay for the condo. Therefore I have been to see lenders. They all recommend against a bridge loan due to unavailability and also due to high costs. They also recommend against a Home Equity loan. The one I think would be the best is this scenario but I am asking for your guidance on which one is the better way to do this for any and all reasons.
Re-finance my current home and take a 0k loan at less than 5%. This loan would have no prepayment penalty. I would make a k down payment on the condo Then sell my home and pay off the refinance loan on the home & owning the condo free & clear.
The other alternative, is to take a mortgage on the new condo & pay it off when the house sells but that mortgage cannot be done until it is completed. Again, there would be no prepayment penalty. Also the seller will not do a contingency.
If I would take the loan on my current home I would not have a problem making the mortgage payments because they would be low enough for me to afford to do this for a few months while the house is listed. But I’m not sure if it makes things more complicated to sell a home with a mortgage on it or not?
I would like to keep the home & rent to my son for property taxes only but it would be less rent than FMV & I think the IRS calls it my second home & the tax benefit is lost. What a shame not to be able to help out.
Thank you,
Need to find an individual who finances homes privately, I have not so good credit, but good job.?
Wednesday, November 4th, 2009want to buy home I live in. Have not so good credit from 3 to 7 years ago. I have been on job for 5 years. Lived in this house 4 years in Jan 2010. I do remodeling and want to add square footage right away to put equity in home fast. Am willing to pay a little higher interest rate than market is at.
Best Way to Pay Off Credit Card Debt?
Monday, September 28th, 2009Here is my situation. I am moving into a new house, and put a large amount of the expenses of renovation, new furniture, etc on my credit card. The balance is currently about K. I am trying to decide what to do to pay it down. I could take savings, which are down because of the market, and pay it off but I would pretty much have very little in liquidity after that. I could also get a home equity loan (my mortgage is quite a bit lower than the appraised value) at about 5% for five years, but that would add debt as well. What are people’s recommendations? Is there another option? I want to wipe out the cc debt asap.
What happens when a person goes bankrupt? I have a lot of friends who have so much credit card debt & I am?
Saturday, September 26th, 2009I am wondering if they would be better going bankrupt but I have no idea what the consequences are for this…I always just work harder & do more things & so I don’t know what they are going through but don’t want to tell them to do things the way I do them….they actually might not be able to work enough & I am afraid one of my friends is going to get sick from pushing so much. So I would like to know what is best….she has a lot of credit card dept & the companies have made it very hard for to pay back by raising her rates when she has done nothing…..anyway, she has a mortgage & equity loan & everything was good until she ended up with a large amount of hospital bills…So if she goes bankrupt & focuses on just paying back her home & equity loan what would be the consequences & would she still owe on the large credit card debts? ..what if she sells her house in a few years & has done well by then will she have to go back & pay off the credit cards or are they just wiped clean?
Help Loan source – Bridge, Mortgage, Equity?
Wednesday, September 9th, 2009I am a 67 yr old widow wants to sell my home & buy new condo. How do I go about it the best way?
Scenario:
Sell Ranch Home – very desirable location one acre lot
Home has no mortgage
Market & selling price are down (that’s ok, it is still do-able)
My disposable cash is about of the condo cost
Condo is new & builder will take contingency (is this a good idea for me or does it increase the cost I might have gotten?)
I’ve never sold or bought a home (we built it) and I’m lost here with what direction is best for me. I want to go ahead & market my home & buy the condo.
My goal is sell the house – buy the condo and to have NO mortgage when the dust settles. Here are the options I see open to me to obtain less than half the money needed to buy the condo.
1. Withdraw some 401k money (I have not tapped any yet)
2. Get a Home Equity loan & pay it up when I sell my house
3. Take a mortgage (is there a fee to pay it back right away?)
4. Check into a bridge loan? (can I pay it right back?)
5. Forget the condo and just move to an apartment.
If it matters, I live in Wisconsin
I sure wish there was a class to take for seniors downsizing. The biggest problem for me in todays market is simply the fear of doing this alone and wrong. Yes, I will get a lawyer and yes I will hire a RE broker but I have done neither one yet.
Thank you in advance for any help.

poor saps who bought Brokaw’s story–like me–don’t fret. So did Rep. Lacy Clay, Obamas Missouri co-chairman and pledged Obama superdelegate himself. Clay told the Columbia Missourian yesterday that the 50 superdelegates would come out of the closet "later this week"–and then took the stats one step further, claiming that "the campaign is Obamas." [Sen. Clinton] will not make up those numbers, Clay said. This race is over. Which wouldn’t have been true in any case–an additional 200 or so superdelegates would’ve still remained uncommitted, and Clinton and Obama would’ve been roughly tied among these party leaders. But it’s even less true today.
Now that Clinton’s death-defying wins in Texas and Ohio have prolonged the contest and slowed Obama’s momentum among party poobahs, there’s a bigger story to watch: an increasing willingness among superdelegates to band together and seek concessions from the presidential candidates in return for votes at the convention. Last night, the Politico reported that bloc of uncommitted Ohio supers–perhaps including Reps. March Kaptur, Dennis Kucinich, Tim Ryan, Zack Space, Betty Sutton and Charlie Wilson, and Sen. Sherrod Brown–is "withholding endorsements from Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton until one or the other offers a concrete proposal to protect American jobs," according to two state Democrats.
At this point, everyone knows that Obama and Clinton need superdelegate support to put them over the top–the superdelegates included. With the contest now likely to continue until the convention, I suspect it won’t be long before others start making similar demands

Ahh, George! You were so close! You and this conflation of speech and money. While you may be in line with the current courts, as someone obsessed with original intent, do you really believe that the founding fathers defined speech in such a way that would dis-proportionally award more speech (and therefore influence) to some and not others? Isnt speech the very quality that a person has idependant of status and money? In the fusion of democracy and capitalism that currently defines American life, speech is the only freedom left that transcends class, but when you say that money is speech, then you disenfranchize all those without it surely not an original intent. Oh, and where does the constitution directly say that money is speech? As a strict constructionist, isnt that a problem?

As Citizens for Tax Justice (www.ctj.org) reported a few years ago, many corporations accept incentives from state and city governments without ever meeting the conditions they agreed to (number of jobs created, for instance). For these companies, the incentive is merely added to the bottom line without so much as a "thank you" to the taxpayers who gave it to them.
I say NO incentives, ever. It is not our role as taxpayers to assume corporate risks of any kind.

Booster SOCIALISM? Come on, George, that is really beneath you. Call it by its real name — croney capitalism or corporate welfare. Don’t engage in Kafka-like political framing by using words you know people will associate with liberalism. What you describe is a failing of conservatism, of the Right. Yet the words you chose — socialism — make it seem like a sin of the Left. That really is dishonest and you know it.
