Are home equity lines of credit or loans easier/harder to get approved of than personal loans?

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

what’s the difference between the two, and which ones are easier/harder to be approved of etc?
My partner is getting one or the other, which I’m strongly urging because he owes me alot of money , due to health problems and house problems I had to help him with, and I personally want him to go with whatever’s more flexible, and has a longer time frame, so it will make it easier on him on payments.

He got accepted left and right when he applied for personal loans last year but turned them all down because he didn’t need them yet, and this year he’s starting again but is going for the home equity, but already got one rejection, because he already has some debt.

I personally don’t know what to tell him, so someone educate me!

thanks.

Looking for a lender or assumable mortgage for my situation, please help?

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

There was almost 100k a year of income, then my health problems occurrednow Its about 48k a year, consist of alimony and child support. I need to get my health back on track. I need to re-finance before my adjustable rate kicks in, this month or next. The lender suggested a forbearance agreement which has been done. I know I will have a much harder time with payments, once that happens. Moving into a less expensive home, that would be great but there is no equity left for another down payment. I need a lender that can help? Or does anyone have an assumable mortgage for me to take over? How and where can I find an assumable mortgage? Help from this stressful situation would be greatly appreciated.
I have four very young ones at home as well as four grand babies with animals. Renting is totally out of the question.

Can Chase home finance take my home?

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

For a long time I had superior credit but due to severe health problems I fell behind and could no longer afford to keep up with my payments, I sent what I could consistently. However, I just recently had an award issued against me in favor of Chase credit card company. I know that Texas law states that Unsecured creditors cannot force me to sell my home for unsecured credit card debt the exception being home equity loans, contractor liens or loans for home improvement. My problem is that I also had a credit card with chase. (never used it for anything concerning my house )Could they find some loophole and force me to sell my home since my credit card was with them and they are my mortgage company? Anyone been in a similar situation?
By the way the award(judgment) is for the credit card only not my house.
