I am looking for advising on how to make down payment for new house. New house is worth around .35m and I will need to generate around 350k so that I can take loan of m( to get better rates). Options:
1. Take money from my bank accounts, investment accounts.
2. Take money from existing house where I have equity of around 0k.
3. do a hybrid i.e some money from bank accounts like 100k and rest as home equity line of credit.
Additional information :
1. Plan to sell my existing house immediately ( have around 250k remaining loan)
2. Have another condo investment that is negative case flow but it is in partnership with somebody else ( liability around 240k) on that.
3. Income level is around mid 200k
Can you please advice :
1. what is best model in this scenario ?
2. Which option should be best ?
3. Should I consider taking money from my 401k account ?

I called my mortgage company today and asked about a refinance. I am not behind, or in forecloser. He did not offer me a good rate, but he did talk about a equity line of credit to pay off the mortgage. I currently have a ARM loan, (I know not good), but thats why i called and tried to get a fixed rate.
He said if I take a equity line of credit, to pay off the balance of the house I would have to pay no fees, or closing cost. Which means that my mortgage would have a 0 ballance. My credit is OK, I owe less then 1/2 of what I borrowed. My ARM interest rate is 7.125%, and he said he could get me the Equity line of credit at 4.5% Is there any catch to this, is this a good idea, or bad idea. Please help

I thought the Fed just fixed the economy yesterday by dropping interest rates. I don’t get it. The market is still going down. With lower interest rates, you’d think somebody would be able to afford my house now. It’s been over 24 hours since the Fed lowered interest rates, and I still don’t have an offer on my house. I’m getting nervous. I gotta sell soon or I’ll have to sell my Harley, boat, and RV. The HELOC payments are killing me!

Like most Americans, I got caught up in the housing boom and totally over borrowed on my home. I took out HELOCs to buy a Harley Davidson and a boat about a year ago. I cant really afford my payments right now as it is and I just got a letter saying that my ARM is resetting in March (I never bothered to read the loan agreement I signed) to find out that my housing payment is tripling next year!
I just caught wind of the governments plan to freeze interest rates on the housing market. Does anyone know how one signs up for this plan? I would like to lock in my rate before Christmas if possible since I am planning on buying a new Lexus for significant other as a surprise this year.
