Im looking to get a home equity loan from my bank. Already started the process, im just waiting on the drive by appraisal. Im just looking for around ,000 to pay off credit cards i dont use anymore. I dont use credit cards anymore period. But want to be able to pay them off within 5 years, and with all these interest hikes over the past year ill never do it by paying them directly. So i figured even with the highest interest rate for a home equity loan i can have them paid in under 5 years and save over 0 a month. What i want to know is since im requesting a little amount of money does my bank have the ability to work with me in bending the rules a bit if the appraisal doesnt come back with at least what i need to get the entire amount. And what all do they use when doing drive by apprasials and do they increase the value of the house in any way? Thanks!
Well, my tax assesment value puts the house and land at about 2,000. And i currently owe ,000. Is there room to work?
The original appraisal was ,000 back in 2007, since we have updated the entire 1100 sq/ft of living space and restructured and replaced the roof at the tune of ,000, reroofed the garage, and finshed a 300 sq/ft enclosed porch, with also landscaping, with pool and shed reconditioning. Total cost of all we did is around ,000. Any thoughts.

My husband and I are wanting to rehab a home.We found one for ,000 that the bank owns and we think we can get for ,000.It needs about ,000 in repairs.(Maybe sell for high ,000 when complete)My question is without touching our house note(equity line of credit, ect) what is the best way to go about getting a loan for this project w/o any $ down.We have excellent credit and was told possibly a construction loan where you just pay on the interest as you go.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible in our current market? If so, can it be in one loan? Say the home is purchased for 0k, can the buyer ask for another k for personal debt? Does this have to be done with a home equity loan?

Hi.
I am planning to purchase a 2nd home (to keep it in the family) from an older relative who lives out of state. I currently have a primary residence which I would like to sell in a couple of years. Would it be wise to start a new loan, home equity loan or home equity line of credit.
Thanks

I want to make an offer on a home that isn’t yet on the open market, but the owner is in financial difficulties. I have to wait for my loan application to be approved before I talk to him. Meanwhile the agent in the area that I have consulted tells me she managed to talk with him briefly, and learnt that he is in difficulty because he can’t meet a balloon payment.
Not wanting to show my ignorance I said no more then looked up a definition.
Why would he have taken out this type of loan instead of a home equity one? Does he not have an option to negotiate to change the payment for another loan?

If I borrow more than 0,000 and pay off my 1st mortgage, that basically I turn the home equity loan into my 1st mortgage, but I am not sure if I can deduct all interest up to the whole equity amount I borrow. Generally home equity loan can only deduct tax for the interest for the loan amount up to 0,000.
I am able to find a home equity loan with zero cost with lower loan rate which is better than any mortgage program I can find in the market.

I thought it was due on the 15th of the month…not the 1st of the month. I had no idea I was getting late fees. I think I have like 6 late fees…all for being about 2 days beyond the late grace period.
