I hold a second mortgage on a house in NJ which is being foreclosed on. The 1st mortgage was held by WAMU and purchased by JPMorgan in 2008. If the 1st mortgage was modified after my mortgage was registered, is my mortgage still subordinate to the 1st mortgage?

Hello, I just tried to apply with BOA to see if I would get pre-qualify for a home loan to purchase a condo that costs 0,000. When BOA asked me how much I would put down, I told them that I was hoping that the bank loan would do it and the guy told me that I would have to apply for a Down Payment Assistance and see if Hud would grant me 3%. I am looking for a seller who would pay all closing costs or if I could put the closing costs and down payment in the loan and BOA told me that I couldn’t. I’m not a first time homebuyer because I previously was a 4th person in a title and mortgage for another home. I guess my question here is to find out if there are other options for me for getting this condo that I want. Thank you in advance for your response.

I am unemployed and cannot pay the mortgage payments. I have the home on the market but it will not sell for the loan amount. I was thinking of giving the 1st mortgage holder (80%), a deed in lieu of foreclosure. Will the second mortgage holder (20%) be able to get any money or be able to file a judgment against me as home owner? I live in the State of Arkansas.

Mortgage is with Chase, equity loan is also with Chase. We applied for a loan modification. Due to job loss, decreased pay we cannot continue to make our home loan and equity loan payments.
Wondering if they will adjust/combine our equity loan in our home loan modification. I can’t get a straight answer from Chase regarding specifics until underwriter has approved.
Does any one know, or has had experience with Chase or this scenario.
Thanks!

I’m getting conflicting info from mortgage companies. I have a 1st and 2nd mortgage through bank of America (2nd is balloon mtg.) All I’m looking to do is combine the two through another company, not take any additional money out. I don’t have much equity in the house, and have been told 2 different things regarding an FHA loan. One lender says they can refinance up to 97.75% of my home’s value. Another said They can only refinance up to 85% on what they consider to be a "cash-out" refinance. Do they consider it cash out when you’re paying off a 2nd mortgage along with your first?
I’m clueless about this stuff- please help!!! Thanks

I guessing I need 10K – 15K to fix my house the way I would like to. How do I finance something like that? I’ve heard that rates are high on home equity loans, but maybe that’s the best way to go? Or just a simple loan from a bank? I really don’t know what options are out there and how they work. For example, if I do get a loan from a bank do they just put that money in my checking account and I write checks? If not, how do I access the money? What kind of information do I have to give them for a loan like that? Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.
